Job Description:

Oxford NHS Trust is seeking an experienced and dedicated Part-Time Consultant in Sports and Exercise Medicine to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing specialist clinical services, promoting physical activity, and managing sports-related injuries across all age groups. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and contribute to the development of sports and exercise medicine services within the Trust.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with sports-related injuries and conditions.
• Promote the benefits of physical activity and exercise in the prevention and management of diseases.
• Lead clinics and consultations focused on sports and exercise medicine.
• Collaborate with physiotherapists, orthopedic surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care.
• Contribute to the education and training of medical staff, students, and allied health professionals.
• Engage in research activities and initiatives to advance the field of sports and exercise medicine.
• Participate in public health promotion initiatives related to physical activity and sports safety.

Requirements:

• A medical degree with completed training in Sports and Exercise Medicine.
• Registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practice.
• Demonstrated experience in sports medicine clinical practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong commitment to patient-centered care.
• Experience in research or a strong interest in contributing to clinical research and education.
