- Perform rigging and lifting operations in accordance with industry best practices, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Inspect, maintain, and operate rigging equipment such as slings, shackles, hoists, and cranes to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations.
- Rig and secure loads using appropriate techniques and equipment to prevent damage and ensure stability during transport and lifting.
- Communicate effectively with crane operators, rigging teams, and other personnel to coordinate lifting activities and ensure safe work practices.
- Conduct pre-job safety briefings and toolbox talks to discuss work procedures, hazards, and risk mitigation measures with the crew.
- Monitor weather conditions and assess environmental factors to determine the feasibility of lifting operations and implement appropriate safety precautions.
- Follow established procedures for rigging and lifting of personnel, equipment, and materials on offshore platforms, vessels, and construction sites.
- Participate in emergency response drills and exercises as required to maintain readiness and competency in emergency procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Rigger in the offshore oil and gas industry or related field.
- Valid offshore survival certification (BOSIET or equivalent) and medical fitness certificate.
- Recognised rigging certification (e.g., OPITO Rigger Training, NCCCO Rigger Certification) preferred.
- Proficiency in rigging techniques, lifting operations, and safe rigging practices.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and industry guidelines for rigging and lifting operations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic offshore environment.
- Willingness to travel and work on offshore installations for extended periods, including offshore platforms, drilling rigs, and construction vessels.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures at all times.
