Job Description:

NHS Stoke on Trent is seeking a highly organized and motivated Support Secretary to join our team. This role is crucial in providing comprehensive administrative support to our healthcare professionals, facilitating efficient operation of our services. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a strong ability to multitask, and a passion for supporting healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to medical staff and departments, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and organizing meetings.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain patient records and correspondence with confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Handle incoming calls and emails, directing queries to the appropriate departments or individuals.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for departmental or healthcare meetings.
  • Manage and order office supplies, ensuring that staff have the necessary materials to perform their duties efficiently.
  • Coordinate with other administrative staff to ensure smooth workflow and patient management across the department.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a secretary or administrative assistant, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage confidential information with discretion.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
