Job Description:

Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Lead Dietitian to oversee our Adult Community Dietetic services. This key role involves leading a team of dietitians and nutrition professionals to deliver exceptional nutritional care and support to adult patients in the community setting. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and evaluating nutrition programs tailored to the diverse needs of our community.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Adult Community Dietetic team, providing clinical supervision and professional development support.
• Develop and implement nutrition care plans based on thorough assessment of the nutritional needs of patients.
• Provide expert nutrition consultation and therapy to help manage conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and other chronic disorders.
• Conduct community outreach and education programs to promote healthy eating habits and preventive nutrition strategies.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to integrate dietary therapy with overall patient care plans.
• Oversee the collection and analysis of patient data to monitor outcomes and improve services.
• Contribute to research and quality improvement projects within the dietetic department.

Requirements:

• Registered Dietitian with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Advanced degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field.
• Significant clinical experience in dietetics, including substantial community-based experience.
• Proven leadership skills and experience managing a clinical team.
• Strong analytical skills and evidence-based clinical knowledge.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, staff, and the wider community.
• Commitment to continuing professional development.
