Job Description
The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in overseeing store operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and achieving sales targets. This role requires strong leadership skills, retail management experience, and a commitment to the Next brand ethos.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in daily store operations and team management.
- Drive sales through exceptional customer service and team motivation.
- Ensure visual merchandising standards are met and maintained.
- Manage staff recruitment, training, development, and scheduling.
- Handle customer queries and complaints with professionalism.
- Monitor inventory levels and order stock as needed.
- Prepare detailed reports on buying trends, customer needs, and profits.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Undertake store administrative tasks as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Assistant Store Manager or similar supervisory role in retail.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of retail management best practices.
- Proficient in MS Office and store management software.
- A commitment to delivering high standards of customer service.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or relevant field preferred.
