Job Description:

Network Rail is seeking a diligent and safety-conscious Technician for Track Maintenance to join our London team. This role involves maintaining and repairing railway tracks to ensure safe and efficient train operations. The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated team responsible for routine checks, emergency repairs, and general maintenance of railway infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of tracks, including rails, sleepers, and ballasts.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations to repair track faults and damages.
  • Use specialized machinery and tools for track maintenance and construction.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to implement track upgrades and replacements.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures during maintenance activities.
  • Document maintenance work and report findings to management.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical skills and safety knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in track maintenance or a similar technical role, preferably in the rail industry.
  • Strong understanding of track infrastructure and maintenance techniques.
  • High level of physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends, as required for emergency responses and scheduled maintenance.
  • Relevant technical qualifications are highly advantageous.
