Position Overview: As a Designate Team Manager in the Foods department, you will be responsible for leading and inspiring a team to deliver excellent customer service, meet sales targets, and ensure the highest standards of food quality and presentation. You will play a key role in driving the success of the store and developing your team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of customer assistants to achieve sales and service targets.
• Ensure excellent customer service is delivered at all times, addressing any customer queries or complaints promptly and professionally.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Foods department, including stock management, merchandising, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Monitor and analyze sales performance, identifying opportunities for growth and implementing action plans to achieve targets.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, conducting regular audits and training sessions.
• Collaborate with other departments and management to ensure seamless store operations and a cohesive customer experience.
• Support recruitment, training, and development initiatives to build a strong, skilled, and motivated team.
• Implement and manage promotional activities and seasonal events to drive sales and enhance customer engagement.
• Act as a role model for the team, demonstrating M&S values and behaviors in all interactions.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a retail management role, preferably within the food sector.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
• Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on delivering a positive customer experience.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
