Position Overview: As a Customer Assistant in the Foods department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers have an enjoyable shopping experience. You will be responsible for assisting customers, maintaining product displays, and ensuring the store is inviting and well-organized.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs in the Foods department.
  • Provide knowledgeable advice and recommendations on food products.
  • Operate cash registers, handle transactions accurately, and manage returns and exchanges.
  • Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure products are properly labeled and priced.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including aisles, shelves, and checkout areas.
  • Ensure high standards of product presentation and merchandising.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations.
  • Uphold M&S standards for quality, customer service, and store appearance.
Qualifications:
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to lift and move products as needed and stand for extended periods.
