Position Overview: We are seeking a diligent and energetic Warehouse Assistant to join our team at IKEA Reading. This role involves handling the receipt, storage, and dispatch of products, ensuring the warehouse operates efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, physical stamina, and a proactive attitude towards work.
Responsibilities:
  • Receive, check, and organize incoming deliveries.
  • Accurately pick, pack, and dispatch orders for delivery to customers.
  • Ensure products are correctly labeled and stored in designated areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse environment.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with stock management.
  • Follow health and safety regulations and IKEA policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of goods.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics role is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse management systems.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the UK.
  • Valid forklift operator certification is a plus but not mandatory.
