Position Overview: We are looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our Sales team at IKEA Gateshead. As a Sales Assistant, you will provide excellent customer service, assist customers with their inquiries, and ensure that our store is well-stocked and beautifully presented.
Responsibilities:
  • Greet customers and offer assistance in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Provide detailed product information and guidance to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure products are well-stocked, properly displayed, and correctly priced.
  • Assist customers with locating products and demonstrate product features.
  • Process customer transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in your designated sales area.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and maintain high standards.
  • Handle customer complaints and returns in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Stay informed about product knowledge, promotions, and store policies.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications:
  • Previous retail experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-focused with a positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the UK.
