Job Description:

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is seeking compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to join our team. This role involves supporting a variety of departments within the hospital, providing essential care to patients, and assisting medical staff with daily clinical duties. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the healthcare team, committed to delivering high-quality patient care and support.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the observation and monitoring of patients’ conditions by checking vital signs and reporting any changes to the registered nurse or doctor.
• Provide personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting needs.
• Support patients with mobility issues and assist in the use of aids and personal equipment.
• Ensure the environment is kept clean and safe for patients and staff.
• Assist with clinical duties such as taking blood samples, administering injections, and preparing patients for examinations.
• Maintain patient records accurately and ensure all communications are logged and reported.
• Offer emotional support and companionship to patients, helping to alleviate feelings of distress and isolation.

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards it.
• Previous experience in a caring role preferred but not essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate nature.
• Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Commitment to patient care and confidentiality.
