Chelsea Football Club is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our scouting team as an Academy Scout. This role will play a crucial part in identifying and recruiting talented young players to join Chelsea’s academy program. If you have a passion for football and a keen eye for talent, this could be the perfect opportunity to contribute to the success of Chelsea FC’s academy.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend matches, tournaments, and events at various levels to identify and assess talented young players.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local clubs, schools, and grassroots football organizations to identify potential talent.
  • Conduct player assessments and evaluations, providing detailed reports on players’ strengths, weaknesses, and potential.
  • Collaborate with the academy coaching staff to identify recruitment priorities and target areas for player development.
  • Assist with the organization and coordination of trial events and talent identification initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases of player assessments, scouting reports, and recruitment activity.
  • Liaise with parents, players, and agents to provide information and support throughout the recruitment process.
  • Keep up to date with developments in youth football and scouting techniques to ensure Chelsea FC remains at the forefront of talent identification.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in talent identification and scouting, preferably within a professional football club or academy environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of football and the ability to assess players’ technical, tactical, and physical attributes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with players, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage a busy schedule of matches and scouting assignments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and self-motivated approach to scouting.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required, with regular travel to matches and events across the UK.
  • Valid driving license and access to own transport.
