Overview:
BBC Nottingham is seeking a skilled Technical Operator to join our production team. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our technical facilities for both live and recorded broadcasts. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in broadcast engineering or related fields, and a passion for media production.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain broadcast equipment, including audio and video editing software, mixing consoles, and transmission equipment.
- Assist in the setup and calibration of technical systems for live broadcasts and recordings.
- Troubleshoot technical issues to minimize downtime and ensure the continuity of broadcasts.
- Collaborate with producers and other technical staff to meet production requirements.
- Maintain logs and records of equipment usage and perform routine checks to ensure compliance with safety and broadcasting standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Technical Operator in radio, television, or similar media environment.
- Strong understanding of broadcasting technologies and multimedia production.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Relevant technical degree or certification is preferred.
