Overview:
BBC Radio Wiltshire is looking for a talented Journalist to join our dynamic team in Swindon. This role involves creating and delivering high-quality news content, engaging with the local community, and upholding the BBC’s standards of impartial and informative journalism.
Responsibilities:
- Research, write, and broadcast news stories covering local events, community issues, and other relevant topics.
- Conduct interviews and produce engaging audio content for both live broadcasts and recorded segments.
- Collaborate with the production team to develop creative approaches to radio journalism.
- Engage with the community to source stories and build relationships with local stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and national news, ensuring all content is accurate and timely.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in journalism, preferably in radio or a similar broadcast medium.
- Strong interviewing and reporting skills, with the ability to produce compelling audio content.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Knowledge of the Swindon area and its community dynamics.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.
