Overview:

Responsibilities:

• Report on a variety of topics including local government, cultural events, and community issues, ensuring comprehensive coverage that meets the needs of our audience.
• Produce content for radio, television, and online platforms, adapting tone and style to each medium.
• Collaborate with other journalists and editors to develop story ideas and follow through to publication.
• Engage with the local community to maintain a flow of news and ensure that content is relevant and impactful.
• Uphold BBC’s editorial standards and practices in all reporting and content production.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in journalism, with a strong portfolio of work.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and accurate reports under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of the Milton Keynes area and its issues, with established contacts or the ability to develop them.
• Strong ethical judgment and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
