Job Description: Sheffield United Football Club is seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our academy staff as an Academy Support Officer. In this role, you will provide essential administrative and logistical support to the academy’s operations, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day activities. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting with the coordination of academy training sessions, matches, and events, including scheduling, venue arrangements, and equipment management.
  • Managing player registration and compliance processes in accordance with league and governing body regulations.
  • Supporting the academy coaching staff with administrative tasks, such as player evaluations, performance tracking, and session planning.
  • Liaising with players, parents, and staff to communicate important information, schedules, and updates.
  • Maintaining accurate records and databases related to player registrations, medical information, and other academy records.
  • Assisting with travel arrangements for academy teams, including booking transportation, accommodation, and meals for away fixtures.
  • Contributing to the organization and execution of academy trials, recruitment events, and talent identification programs.
  • Providing general administrative support to the academy management team as required.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in an administrative or support role, preferably within a sports or academy environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with players, parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software programs.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure.
  • A passion for football and youth development, with a genuine interest in supporting the growth and success of young players.
  • Availability to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to support academy activities and events.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle may be required for travel to training grounds, matches, and events.
